South Devon Tutors is a trading name of Porter Education Limited.
We operate as an online directory and information platform, helping parents find independent tutors and providing optional listing and verification services for tutors.

This Refund Policy explains when refunds may or may not be available.
2. Tutoring Services
South Devon Tutors does not provide tutoring services.
All tutoring sessions, payments, cancellations and disputes are arranged directly between parents and tutors.
We therefore cannot offer refunds for:

Tutoring sessions

Missed lessons
-
Tutor cancellations

Dissatisfaction with tuition
-
Exam outcomes or academic progress
Any refund relating to tuition must be requested directly from the tutor involved.
3. Directory Listings for Tutors
Fees paid by tutors may include:

Directory listing fees

Featured listing fees
-
Verification fees
Unless otherwise stated, all listing and verification fees are non-refundable once:

a listing has gone live, or
-
verification checks have commenced
This includes situations where:

a tutor chooses to stop tutoring
-
availability changes
-
personal circumstances change
4. Exceptional Refunds
Refunds may be considered at our discretion where:

A technical error resulted in duplicate payment

A service was charged but not provided
-
An administrative error occurred
Any refund requests must be submitted in writing within 14 days of payment.
5. Digital Products and Resources
Where digital resources or downloads are purchased:

All sales are final
-
Refunds cannot be issued once content has been accessed or downloaded
This is in accordance with UK consumer law relating to digital content.
6. Events and Mock Exams
For events such as 11+ mock exams, refunds are subject to the following:

Cancellations more than 7 days before the event may be eligible for a refund or credit (minus administrative fees)

Cancellations within 7 days of the event are non-refundable

Non-attendance on the day is non-refundable
Where events are cancelled by South Devon Tutors, a full refund or alternative date will be offered.
7. Termination of Listings
If a tutor listing is removed due to:

breach of terms
-
inaccurate information
-
safeguarding concerns
-
misuse of the platform
no refund will be issued.
8. How to Request a Refund
Refund requests must be submitted by email and include:

Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 working days and returned to the original payment method where possible.
